The Hundred-Eyed Daoist Master was among the many former enemies of Sun Wukong that were assembled by Erlang Shen to defeat and kill Wukong. For his service, the Hundred-Eyed Daoist Master received the Envious Tongue and returned back to his former domain. Now armed with his new relic, the Hundred-Eyed Daoist Master exacted revenge on those that previously aided Wukong against him, severing the left and right hands of Bodhisattva Pilanpo, and easily defeating her son, the Dawnstar using the Bodhisattva's Weaver's Needle.
Gruesome experiments would await as the Hundred-Eyed Daoist poured an experimental potion that either killed or corrupted the Dawnstar, turning him into the Duskveil, and eggs implanted into the left and right hands of Pilanpo emerged as grown Yaoguais. Though the Crane Immortal tells the Hundred-Eyed Daoist off as the court had only chosen not to immediately intervene, the Daoist Master remained comfortable with the position he crafted for himself.
The Hundred-Eyed Daoist Master was one of Sun Wukong’s old enemies who joined an effort led by Erlang Shen to defeat and kill Wukong. After taking part in that campaign, the Daoist Master was rewarded with a relic called the Envious Tongue. He then went back to his former domain, now empowered by that new item.
Once back home, he used the Envious Tongue to take revenge on those who had helped Wukong. He attacked the Bodhisattva Pilanpo and cut off both her left and right hands. He also fought Pilanpo’s son, the Dawnstar, and defeated him easily by using Pilanpo’s own weapon, the Weaver’s Needle.
After defeating the Dawnstar, the Hundred-Eyed Daoist Master carried out cruel experiments. He poured an experimental potion on the Dawnstar that either killed him or corrupted him, and this action turned the Dawnstar into a being called the Duskveil. At the same time, eggs that had been implanted into Pilanpo’s severed hands developed and hatched into grown Yaoguais.
The Crane Immortal confronted the Daoist Master and scolded him, saying that the court had only chosen not to intervene immediately rather than approving what the Daoist Master had done. Despite this reprimand, the Hundred-Eyed Daoist Master stayed comfortable with the position and power he had created for himself.
In short, after being rewarded for fighting Wukong, the Hundred-Eyed Daoist Master used his new relic and brutal experiments to mutilate Pilanpo, transform her son into the Duskveil, and spawn Yaoguais from the severed hands. He was rebuked by the Crane Immortal but remained secure in the authority he had established, leaving Pilanpo maimed and new threats unleashed.
